Ingredients
- 1 package firm or extra firm tofu
- 4-5 slices of ginger
- 3 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 tbsp. oil
- 1 tsp. soy sauce
- 1 tsp. oyster sauce
- salt to taste
- Optional: green onins as a garnish
Instructions
- Take tofu out of package and rinse. Pat dry and leave in shallow bowl to allow water to drain out. We want the tofu to be as dry as possible before adding to pan.
- Slice tofu into ~3/4 inch slices. See pictures for reference.
- In a wok or medium-sized frying pan, heat oil.
- When hot, gently place tofu cubes into pan. Fry first side for about 4 minutes on medium heat.
- Add ginger and garlic to release arromatics.
- Using a spatula, gently flip each tofu cube over. They should be slightly golden brown.
- Fry other side for another 4 minutes, stirring arromatics around but careful to leave tofu to fy.
- Flip tofu once again. You can leave the tofu on longer if you like crispier tofu.
- Add soy sauce and oyster sauce. Mix well.
- Serve over white rice and enjoy!
